Mt. St. Helens

This weekend we drove up to the Mt. St. Helens area. As close as this is to us, I am wondering why I didn't go up there earlier.

Wow, what an amazing sight! Pretty wild that this thing blew up in my lifetime.

Before the devastating May 18, 1980 eruption, Mount St. Helens was considered to be one of the most beautiful and most frequently-climbed peaks in the Cascade Range.

Spirit Lake was a vacation area offering hiking, camping, boating, and fishing.
